Colonial inspired Indian home in Pune

We moved into this apartment about 5 years ago. The area is about 5400 square feet, a duplex on the 10th and 11th floor.

There are lots of large windows and seven terraces, so every room is well-lit, with great views of the lush cantonment area and the hills that surround Pune.

My home is a reflection of my love for artistry and craftsmanship from all around the world. The bulk of my furniture is colonial, but I blend it with leather sofas and distress benches.

I love mixing things up. It makes a home unique, and adds an element of fun. Most of the furniture is from my store.

As an Air Force officer’s wife, I travelled a lot throughout the country. I was fortunate enough to see pretty much the length and breadth of our country and also discover the diverse craftsmanship in various remote areas.

It seemed a natural progression to open my own store for furniture and home-decor, which I did in 1995.

The hanging wall tapestry is a collection of old beadwork patches all sewn together, hanging on an ornate iron curtain rod.
