Climbing Mount Kilimanjaro : Part 2

Tanzania- Tanzania located on Africa’s east coast is home to some of the worlds most famed destinations; Serengeti, Kilimanjaro, Lake Victoria, the island of Zanzibar and much more.

You can climb Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest point and the next day go see the rhino, the wilder beast , the tiger and the elephant at one of its 14 national parks or fly to the island of Zanzibar and swim in it’s crystal clear waters.

Kilimanjaro- Mount Kilimanjaro, the ‘roof of Africa’ is Africa’s highest mountain. This mountain is unique is several ways. Trekkers with no technical climbing experience or even climbing equipment can scale this mountain.

Mt. Kilimanjaro has 4 very distinct biomes; the rainforest, the moorland, the alpine desert and the tundra snow cap. And finally although located in the tropics along the equator, Mt. Kilimanjaro has snow and ice.

Unfortunately ‘the snows of Kilimanjaro’ made famous by Hemingway is melting at an alarming rate due to global warming. Experts say most of Kilimanjaro’s snow cover will be gone by 2020.
