The Spaces segment is dedicated to living spaces. We start with Shenbaga Vilasam, a palace in Coimbatore that is now run as a luxurious home stay. Shenbaga Vilasam brings you the wealth of Tamil Nadu’s heritage in an experiential and personal form.
From the glorious past, we move on to the promise of the future with a feature on Taj Vivanta’s latest property in Yeshwantpur. Modern design integrated with the natural environment as seamlessly as possible.
Leaving the outskirts of the garden city, Akshata Joshi takes you to the lush green landscape of Goa where Shankhwalker architects has designed two properties in completely different styles—one in the North and the other, in South Goa.
Desi to global, the focus shifts to Scandinavia where Stian Nybru lives in an apartment he designed along the atomic theme that was a rage in the 50s. The setting shifts from Oslo to Bangalore, where the all-new sports resto-bar that is a franchise of the successful Manchester United restaurant venture brings football fans much to cheer about.
Thereafter, we travel to Hawaii where Amerjit Ghag shares her wonderful home and talks about her love for colour and pattern.
The theme of this issue is—old meets new—representative of design trends that are moving towards a more inclusive, integrated expression.
